prinicipal“So, when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, Loves though thee more than these? He saith unto him, Yea Lord; thou know that I love thee. He saith unto him FEED MY LAMBS.”

It is this command that our Lord gave to Peter that we as principals and teachers are required to honor. Sunday School is where we feed their souls with the “Good News”. By the time they graduate out of the 12 th grade, they are expected to know the history of the church, the essence of the Qurbana and other spiritual services in addition to the gospel messages the Lord taught us. This job is not to be taken lightly. While we start with the textbooks published by the diocese, they are to be treated as the trigger points to talk to the children about the values of the church inspired through the messages of the Lord. What are these values? These values are based on LOVE. Love of God and Love of your neighbor. St. Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthians, “It (love) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. LOVE NEVER FAILS.” St. Luke in chapter 10 identifies the Neighbor through the the parable of Good Samaritan. It teaches us that the recipient of our love should be immaterial of who the person is in terms of his status in the society, whether he is rich or poor, jew or gentile, king, or servant; it is anyone who is in need of care and love. Once we accept the fact that we are all children of one God, it becomes easy to love One another.
